Tetra pH/KH Minus

An excessive amount of the product can cause a rapid decrease in pH levels, which may stress or harm your fish and other aquatic life. Sudden changes in pH can be particularly dangerous for sensitive species. In some cases, an imbalance caused by overdosing could promote algal growth, leading to cloudy water and further complications in maintaining a healthy environment. If you suspect an overdose immediately test the pH and KH levels to assess the extent of the change.  If the levels are significantly altered, consider doing a partial water change with fresh, conditioned water to help stabilize the parameters. Keep a close eye on your fish for any signs of stress or illness, such as gasping at the surface or other unusual behavior. If you're unsure how to proceed or if your fish show signs of distress, consult your pet retailer. 

It is generally advisable to check the instructions on each product label before combining Tetra pH/KH Minus with other water care products. Avoid using multiple products that affect pH or KH simultaneously, as this can lead to unpredictable results.

When using Tetra pH/KH Minus, follow these safety instructions: Avoid skin contact; keep the product out of reach of children; and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

To reduce the pH value and carbonate hardness, add up to 25 ml per 100 L of aquarium water. Use the dosing cap for measuring. Repeat every 2 to 3 days until the desired KH is reached. This treatment method will reduce the KH by approximately 2 °dH per dosage. During treatment, aerate the water and do not add any CO₂. Test the water regularly with the Tetra 7in1 Test to ensure that the carbonate hardness does not fall below 2 – 4 °dH, otherwise the pH value may fall to a dangerous level.  For long-term management of KH and pH add 5 ml per 100 L of aquarium water every 2 to 3 days. This will reduce the KH by approximately 0.4 °dH per dosage. Regular treatment ensures that the KH is gradually and permanently reduced.

You should use Tetra pH/KH Minus when your aquarium's pH or KH levels are higher than desired for the specific fish or plants you keep. Regular testing of water parameters with the Tetra 7in1 Test will help determine when adjustments are necessary.
