Tetra SafeStart enables you to introduce tropical fish into a new aquarium straight away, without the usual long running-in phase. Its unique mix of living bacteria creates a safe and biologically active environment, acting as a fast and effective “aquarium starter”. By quickly establishing the biological balance, Tetra SafeStart prevents dangerous nitrite peaks, which often occur in freshly set-up tanks and which can lead to fish losses if toxic nitrite cannot be broken down in time. The live bacteria in Tetra SafeStart naturally reduce harmful ammonia and nitrite levels, ensuring that fish are protected from stress and disease right from the beginning.  Tetra SafeStart is not only recommended for setting up a brand-new aquarium, but also for situations where the bacterial balance may be disturbed, such as after using medications, following water changes, or whenever bacterial cultures in the filter have been lost. In all these cases, Tetra SafeStart helps to restore a safe biological environment quickly and reliably. Application is simple: Shake the bottle well before use and add 5 ml of Tetra SafeStart per 6 L of aquarium water. The recommended minimum water temperature for the application is 20 °C. A moderate number of fish can then be introduced, and feeding should be limited during the first two weeks, for example with TetraMin. Always apply Tetra AquaSafe to neutralise harmful substances like chlorine, copper and others often contained in tap water. For best results, Tetra SafeStart should be stored at room temperature, ideally at around 8 °C. Avoid exposing the product to temperatures above 30 °C or below 2 °C to preserve the effectiveness of the living bacteria.
