Tetra Algetten* provide optimum algae control for freshwater aquariums up to 40 L, preventing unsightly algae growth that can inhibit plant growth and unbalance the ecosystem in your aquarium. The active ingredient in each tablet is released slowly over four weeks, ensuring continuous protection without discolouring the water. Gentle on fish, plants and microorganisms when used as directed, Tetra Algetten* work by disrupting the algae’s metabolism while leaving your aquatic life unharmed. Simply add one tablet per 10 L of aquarium water, position it in a place where there is plenty of water movement and repeat after four weeks if necessary. During treatment, maintain aeration (for example with a Tetra APS air pump), switch off UV clarifiers, avoid activated carbon filtration and refrain from water changes. Remove any dead algae mechanically to preserve water quality. For long‑term prevention, follow up with nutrient control - such as reducing phosphate and nitrate values with Tetra EasyBalance.
