IFS Food is a recognised standard for assessing the quality and safety of food. That is how we, as a brand, have succeeded for more than 60 years in building a customer confidence in our products with both our consumers and our retail partners. 

Today, Tetra products are sold in over 120 countries worldwide through a global network of regional affiliates, with offices in Germany, France, UK, Italy, Poland, USA, Japan, Singapore and China.

Research for healthy fish and happy aquarium owners

Tetra maintains the largest independently accredited research and development department of the aquatic industry. The focus of our activities is to make the fishkeeping hobby easier, safer and more user-friendly through ongoing research and development. We have a R&D department that is unique within the industry: highly qualified employees, including biologists, chemists, veterinarians and process engineers, who are responsible for the further development of new, product enhancement and quality management. The department works closely with our global marketing department that, through global market research studies, on order to understand and deliver the consumers’ requirements. Thanks to this intensive cooperation, products developed by Tetra meet the needs of fish as well as those of the aquarium owners. 

Furthermore, we have a wide range of products which are either patented, made with a patented technology or include patented components.

In 2008, Tetra’s corporate structures were used in order to introduce the 8in1 pet brand in Europe. The core focus of the brand lies on snacks and treats for dogs. The pet division of Spectrum Brands was extended in 2012 with the introduction of the FURminator FURminator brand which offers an extensive range of high quality patented grooming and hygiene products for dogs, cats and other animals.
