Tetra is bringing out special food for cichlids

With two new products available in two sizes, Tetra is expanding its range of special food for cichlids. With the new products Tetra Cichlid Algae and Tetra Cichlid Colour, Tetra is taking account of the fact that the term Cichlid refers to many different types of fish, each with individual needs. The various Cichlid sub-species ingest protein in different ways and require a specific protein/fat ratio. They also differ in their eating habits – depending on whether they are omnivores, or mainly carnivores or herbivores – and in terms of their colouring.

Tetra Cichlid Algae and Tetra Cichlid Colour is a premium staple food that provides balanced nutrition to fish. Both products contain beneficial protein and other essential nutrients such as the patented BioActive formula to ensure that the fish enjoy long, happy lives. Tetra Cichlid Colour also has natural colour enhancers for all red, orange and yellow cichlids. This pet food is particularly suitable for omnivores and carnivores such as Oscar, Kribensis and Electric Yellow. Tetra Cichlid Algae is suitable for herbivores and omnivores such as Mbuna and Tropheus duboisi, as it contains spiruline algae. This algae consists of about 50% protein as well as other vitamins and minerals and it is rich in high quality essential nutrients. Added carotinoids, particularly astaxanthin, ensure bright colours. Spirulina algae also boosts the immune system, thus strengthening the fishes’ natural defences and vitality. Both pet foods come in two sizes: Tetra Cichlid Algae and Tetra Cichlid Colour are for larger cichlids and the mini-versions are suitable for the smaller species. With this expansion to its range of special food for cichlids, Tetra is specifically targeting experienced aquarists with high demands. As the worldwide market leader in this sector, Tetra carries out market research worldwide and therefore knows what its customers need. As this market research has highlighted a trend for specialised food, expanding the existing cichlid food range was both logical and appropriate. The new products are available from May 2011 in 500 ml containers.

Tetra extends its range of natural food products

TetraDelica Nature MixTetra is extending its range of natural food products by introducing the new TetraDelica Nature Mix. In doing so, the leader in the fishkeeping market is responding to the current trend of experienced aquarists whose main concern is to offer their fish a varied and near-natural feed. This new product contains four types of natural foods, including daphnia that is high in fibre and protein-rich brine shrimps, as well as cyclops and krill, which both contain a high level of carotenoids for a beautiful colouring and essential Omega-3 fatty acids for increased energy. The feed animals are carefully freeze-dried or sun-dried to guarantee optimum quality and the highest nutritional value. This means that the vitamins and nutrients are well preserved. TetraDelica Nature Mix provides an ideal supplement for all types of tropical fish and, thanks to the patented container with four individual sections, allows for a varied and delicious diet.

As part of this increase in its range of products, Tetra has also made improvements to the formula of the well-known Tetra DelicaMenu. Red bloodworms have been replaced with krill, as the fish find this natural food extremely tasty and are therefore more likely to ac-cept it. The krill is freeze-dried to ensure that the carotenoids and valuable Omega-3 fatty acids are well preserved. The former serves to enhance the colour of the fish, whilst the latter promotes healthy growth. The nutritious staple diet of Tetra DelicaMenu, suitable for all types of tropical fish, has been carefully developed to ensure optimum quality and high nutritional value. The pat-ented container is made up of four separate compartments. Each one contains mini flakes that constitute a staple diet, with the patented BioActive formula to contribute to a long and healthy life. The added feed animals make for a varied and delicious diet. In addition to krill, these include fibre-rich daphnia, brine shrimps with a high level of protein, as well as gammarus that fish find very tasty and contain natural minerals.

TetraDelica Nature Mix is now available in stores in 250 ml containers and Tetra DelicaMenu is available in 100 ml containers.
TetraGuppy: Specialised food products for guppies and other live-bearing tooth-carps

TetraGuppy and Tetra GuppyColour serve to meet consumers’ growing demands for high-quality staple foods for certain species of fish. Guppies and other live-bearing tooth-carps such as platy, molly and swordtails are becoming increasingly popular with aquarists. However, these tropical fish have very particular dietary requirements, due in part to their digestive system and also to the fact that live-bearing fish have specific nutritional needs.

The newly developed Tetra GuppyColour consists of orange-coloured mini flakes, which are characterised primarily by their highcontent of natural colour enhancers (carotenoids) that give the fish a beautiful intense colour.

Modifications have been made to the formula of the well-established product TetraGuppy. The mini flakes are now especially tasty and more readily accepted by fish due to their high content of plant ingredients and added minerals. In addition to this, TetraGuppy contains natural colour enhancers to give the live-bearing fish a wonderful colouring.

Both TetraGuppy and Tetra GuppyColour provide a biologically balanced diet promoting healthy growth and vitality. The specially developed mini flakes make it simpler for the fish to feed, as they have been adapted to their small mouths and are easily digested. Both products will be available in stores from June 2011 in 100 ml and 250 ml containers.

The new TetraPro segment Premium food for tropical fish

Since May 2011 Tetra presents its range of TetraPro premium food. As a biologically balanced staple diet, the various products ensure optimal nutrition for tropical ornamental fish, marine fish and goldfish. TetraPro food contains only crisps, produced in a unique gentle low-temperature process to protect heat-sensitive ingredients such as vitamins. This gives the crisps a particularly high nutritional value, making a significant contribution towards fish growth and health. Special two-colour technology is used in almost all TetraPro varieties to produce the crisps. The outer ring contains all the essential nutrients while the centre contains various ingredients that have additional benefits to satisfy specific fish requirements. TetraPro feed is highly digestible and the optimised protein/fat ratio ensures better nutrient utilisation and food conversion, while also minimising water pollution. Furthermore, the patented BioActive formula helps keep the fish immune system healthy. Each product is specifically tailored to meet the various nutritional requirements of fish and is specifically aimed at demanding aquarists.

TetraCichlid ProThe new staple diet TetraPro Cichlid is specifically tailored to meet the needs of cichlids and contains equal proportions of crisps with green centres and orange centres. The former contain algae and the latter contain krill, a natural raw material with high carotinoid content. This combination has been optimised to ensure wonderfully bright colours.

Tetra Discus ProTetraPro Discus is another new product providing balanced nourishment to discus fish. It comes with crisps containing high-quality colour enhancers to bring out the best of the intense colour of the discus fish.

MenuTetraPro Menu is also new. It comes with four different crisps, stored in separate sections inside the patented container. So, by turning the lid to the desired compartment, aquarists can provide their fish with what they need when they need it, to ensure a varied diet. The crisps with spirulina algae increase resilience, while the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids yellow crisps boost energy levels. The red crisps bring out fish colourings and the orange crisps ensure healthy growth.

Still available in this range are TetraPro Algae, TetraPro Colour and TetraPro Energy. The latter is, among other things, enriched with high-quality fish oil, which provides an extra energy boost and which contains essential omega 3 fatty acids and fat soluble vitamins such as A and D. TetraPro Algae features concentrated levels of spirulina algae which, with their healthy, easily digestible micronutrients, promote fish resilience and vitality. The multi-crisps in TetraPro Colour have a high carotinoid content, which brings out a fish’s natural colouring. If fed regularly, the intensifying effect can be seen clearly after just two weeks. All three products have a new design that, in addition, emphasises the effect and benefits of the food.

The traditional TetraMin Pro Crisps and TetraMin Pro XL Crisps also feature in the TetraPro range. Because of their size, TetraMin Pro Crisps are ideal for feeding medium-sized fish, while the XL variety has been developed specifically to feed larger fish. Both feeds have single-coloured crisps with optimised nutrients, providing a healthy diet to all tropical ornamental fish. The TetraMin Mini Crisps are new. They have two-tone-crisps from 0.5 to 2.5 mm, making them ideal for feeding smaller and younger fish.

Besides the various TetraPro premium food for tropical ornamental fish, there are also varieties for goldfish and marine fish, each with two-tone crisps. Tetra GoldfishPro contains various multi-crisps that have highly nutritous ingredients to ensure healthy growth and boost energy levels. The recipe for Tetra MarinePro was tailored to meet the specific needs of marine fish. There are two parts to these multi-crisps. One part provides essential nutrients while the other part provides additional benefits such as spirulina algae. These easily digestible micronutrients help improve fish resilience and vitality.
